INCI: Butyrospermum Parkii butter. This premium grade refined Shea butter is ivory-white in color, contains skin-nurturing fatty acids (stearic and linoleic) and is used as an emollient (skin-softener) in cosmetics, hair, and skin formulations.

Use by: 2-3 years from date of purchase. Store in a cool (50-68f) location, in a dark place. Refrigeration storage is acceptable. It will harden.
SAP Values: NaOH .135, SAP KOH .19
Usage Rates: Cold Process soap: 3-40%, lotions & creams: 3-5%, Salves, 6-60%. 100% can be directly applied on the skin.

Quick Info/Tip:
Natural butters like Shea or Mango have a natural tendency to turn in to a grainy texture. This does NOT mean the butter has gone bad or turned rancid. When a butter, such as Shea or Mango, is heated, the fatty acids separate from one another. Then if it cools slowly, these fractions stay separate causing the butter to go grainy. (This can happen during shipping in warm weather). Gently melting the butter while stirring, and then rapid cooling or freezing may help to reduce/remove graininess.
